

Our Story
Rivera Advertising was established in 1996 by founder and CEO, Arturo Medina. After many years of honing his skills while working in the television industry, Arturo realized that there was a need for a local agency that specialized and understood the Hispanic Market. He created Rivera Advertising.
Rivera Advertising is a highly skilled and reputable advertising agency specializing in both English and Spanish Language media. With over 20 years of experience in the media realm, Rivera Advertising aims to provide our clients with advertising campaigns that deliver new customers to them.
Located in the historical city of San Juan Bautista, California, Rivera’s objective was to serve as the link to bridge the gap between business and the Spanish language media providers. Since its inception, Rivera Advertising has created long term relationships with clients such as Chavez Super Market (since 1996), CET (since 1997), Dr. Rhodes Chiropractic Clinics- now known as NMCI Medical Clinics (since 1997), and The Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose (since 1998), among many others.

Meet the Team

Arturo Medina
President & CEO
California State University, East Bay - B.S. in Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing
Arturo began his career in Spanish language media and advertising in 1991 as an account executive for Telemundo of Northern California. Within two years he had become the top A.E., the next three years he spent learning every aspect of advertising with the hope of someday opening his own agency. During his employment with Telemundo he was offered partnerships with existing agencies. However, he continued to pursue his dream of someday owning his own business, this dream became alive in the summer of 1996.

Magdalena Medina
Vice President & Office Manager
Excelsior University of Monterrey, Mexico - Accounting
Magdalena joined the workforce in 1979 after college. In Mexico, she first worked in Alpha Group and 2 years later started working for Graphic Artists Associates. She worked for Serfin Bank for 6 years before she married Arturo and came to the United States in 1989. After having 3 kids, she enrolled into Gavilan College for 2 years to improve her English and actively joined Arturo in 2008 and began running the fiscal department for Rivera Advertising.

Cristina Medina
Social Media Strategist
University of California, Berkeley - B.A. in Ethnic Studies, B.A. Peace and Conflict Studies
After graduating, Cristina began working as the Executive Assistant of Rivera Advertising and has now shifted to being the Social Media Strategist focused on running Facebook campaigns. With the big heart that Cristina has, she also works with children with special needs at the First Five organization.

Gabriela Medina
Google Adwords Specialist
University of California, Santa Barbara - B.A. in English
Shortly after graduating, Gabriela landed a job with Curvature in Santa Barbara where she worked as a Telemarketer for a year. She currently works as the Google Adwords Specialist for Rivera Advertising.

Mónica Medina
Assistant Coordinator
California State University, Fullerton - B.A. in Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing
While attending CSUF, Mónica worked as a Sales and Services Representative for the Student Recreation Center on campus. After a short period, Mónica was promoted and asked to join the Marketing Team for the Recreation Center to help promote the center and increase registration. After she graduated she returned to work for Rivera Advertising where she has worked on various projects starting at the age of 5. Projects have included TV commercials, on-air interviews, commercial production, script writing among others. Recently, she redeveloped the new Rivera Advertising website and continues working on various projects for Rivera Advertising.

José Herrera
Mio Productions - Creative Director & Producer
California State University, Humboldt - B.S. in Graphic/Video Communication
José began his journey after college in 1997 with CBS as a producer and director for KVIQ-TV. A year later he joined Univision and continued his work as a producer and assistant director there. At the end of 1999, José moved back to the Silicon Valley and became a producer for Telemundo in San Jose. Shortly after, he realized he was very passionate about starting his own productions business and in 2001 he made his ambitions come true. José and Arturo decided to create a partnership between their businesses and have been successful partners ever since.
